EE Week Day 2 The second day of the EE week was also filled with fun and curiosity. To test the knowledge of students, EE Quiz was arranged for students of class I-V. The quiz comprised of various topics related to science and environment. The class was divided into four teams. The children of all the classes enthusiastically participated in the quiz contest and tried their best to come up with the correct answer so as to outdo the other contending groups. The winning team was awarded well done badges. The quiz infused energy and competition among the children and they thoroughly enjoyed this new and different activity in the class. It was an exciting experience and was enjoyed by one and all.

The students of classes 3 F & H conducted their special assembly on 21 January 2019 aligning it with the ongoing Republic Day celebrations. A soulful prayer and the news were followed by Aphorism emphasising on kindness. A skit on duties and rights of a citizen of India served as an eye opener and a mesmerising patriotic song “Ai Watan” filled everyone with gratitude and pride. The Primary section of Class I-V of DPS-Bopal will be celebrating EE week from 21st to 25th January 2019 to make the students aware that science is fun and understanding as well as learning simple scientific facts in a friendly and interactive manner. After a relaxed weekend the children came all prepared and geared up to participate enthusiastically in the EE week. The students of classes I and II started with –“Science ke Chamatkar” showing videos and PPTs on how the refrigerator was invented by Carl von Linde, telephone was invented by Graham bell, extraction of rubber, gum and the process of making pencils etc. The students got a chance to explore their knowledge and enhance their curiosity. It was an enriching experience, as the teachers and students demonstrated different science experiments with their explanation. The students of class III-V sat down in groups and prepared charts. The children had come well prepared with all the topics and the related material about which they were briefed last week. The topics assigned to them were mainly those, which they had studied in their class previously. The EE teachers in the class guided and helped the children to put their best foot forward as they prepared their charts with all their heart, mind and soul. Once the children completed the charts, they were displayed it outside the class with lot of pride. The bulletin boards were also decorated reflecting the theme and flavor of EE Week all around the campus.

Pre–Primary School Activities “Parents’ Club Activity” 19th January 2019 Parents’ participation in school activities play an important role in developing a better connect and positive relationship between the school and the parents. DPS-Bopal preschool invited some of our talented parents to take sessions to share their knowledge and skills with other parents and teachers at both Satellite and Bopal campus. A workshop on “Effective Communication”was conducted by Dr. Nirali Pandit, a faculty at EDII, Ahmedabad. She spoke about the benefits of effective communication. A workshop on Fireless cooking was also conducted by Mr. Sukumar Behera, Deputy Manager in an engineering firm. He prepared Corn Vegetable Chaat and Pomegranate Carrot healthy drink. Mr. Behera shared his experience of healthy cooking at home and encouraged all to prepare tasty yet healthy food, spreading the message of “Health is Wealth”. At Bopal campus, an enlightening workshop was conducted on the topic “Leaving and Start living” by Dr. Archa Shah, a Radiologist by profession. She encouraged all to focus on solutions rather than problems to remain content and happy in life. All the three workshops were enriching and informative and were thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by the audience.

Telling a story creates more vivid, powerful and memorable images in a listener’s mind than does any other means of delivery. To make maths more enjoyable, an Inter House Competition ‘The Matheminds’ was conducted on 16th and 17th January 2019 for classes IV & V and class III respectively, creating an environment of imagination, emotion and thinking. The students came up with wonderful stories with mathematical concepts embedded in them in a very subtle manner. The usage of props and models added life to the stories thereby enhancing their visual beauty and concept clarity. The competition completely mesmerised the young audience throughout and engaged them to think, explore and understand the concepts and ideas. One best student from each class was awarded a certificate as a token of appreciation.

The Social Science Department of Delhi Public School - Bopal, Ahmedabad welcomed Ms. Anshu Sharma as the visitor of the week on 16 January 2019. She was former Add. Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate First Class, Gujarat Judiciary. She is also the Founder of Miracles of Visual Education- which develops animation movies on law and a practicing Advocate, High Court of Gujarat. Ms. Anshu interacted with the students, kept the children engaged with her experiences, advices and guidance in the field of Law. She presented a short movie on Equality and enlightened them about the Fundamental Rights .She also suggested them about the priorities to be kept in mind while selecting Law as a Career. The children enjoyed the interactive session tremendously. Ms.Anshu too was very much impressed by the school’s infrastructure; it’s peaceful and refreshing ambience, qualified faculties, layout, the sports ground, medical room. She admired and appreciated the effort and care shown by our teachers towards their young minds. On a parting note she was presented a memento and a thank you card.
