Dr Ketan Desai, born on 29th June 1957, MS, MCh is former Professor & Head Department Of Urology B J Medical College, Ahmedabad is currently a visiting professor Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai.
He is recipient of Dr B C Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Teacher of the Country for the year 1995; IMA Eminent Medical Men of Highest order for the year 1996; IMA Dr AKN Sinha National Award For Distinguished Services to Medical Profession for the year 1997 and President's Gold Medal Award For Outstanding Contribution to Urology By Urological Society Of India.
Dr. Ketan Desai becomes the first Indian to take over as the President of World Medical Association at the annual assembly at Taiwan. He has succeeded Sir Michael Marmot and will serve the position for 2016-17. Read his full speech here.
